Several of you asked for instructions on my Car's Lightening McQueen treat holder. Since the #2 box is retiring I decided to share them with you. All products are Stampin Up!
Instructions:
First I used the #2 box die and real red and make the box. I cut a piece the same width of the box and about 1/2" short of the height of the box and angled it down slightly on sides, then angled the bottom corners.
The back piece covers the entire back of box and a is a couple inches taller the box. I used my 2 1/2" Circle punch and inserted the corner into the back of the punch through the circle to round the top corners off. Then I place a black piece behind it and trimmed around the curves with my paper snips.
The eyes are two ex large ovals in whisper white with black ovals off set behind them just off set to give definition. The pupils are 1/2" circle in marina mist and Itty Bitty Circle in basic black. I tucked the eyes behind the box a bit.
The hood ornament is two large heart punches in red and black with the top trimmed off with the 2 1/2" Circle punch to form a curved top triangle and I offset them a bit on the bottom to give definition. I placed a more mustard tiny tag punch in center and topped it the Modern Label punch. I cut a second modern label center scallop piece and glued on top of the other modern label. I topped with a small oval.
The head lights are Modern Label punch in gray cut in half. I angled the tops down a bit, then angled the angled the inside edge. Then I trimmed two small piece end pieces in more mustard using the modern label punch to accent the sides. I attached headlights to front with dimensionals.
The mouth is the ex large oval punch in whisper white cut a little less than in half and it is backed with a ex large oval punch in black cut slightly larger. I placed it on car a bit crooked to give him peronality. I attached with dimensionals.
For the tires I used two black modern label punches cut in half for each wheel. I allow the outer part of the wheel to stick out a just a little. For the side tires I used a ex large oval in black and large oval in gray.
I placed a small gray strip behind tires on front of box to give some distinction between grill of car and under car.
Easy HUH?? Enjoy!
